A Big Thank You!

A big thank you to everyone who came to GBSEx 2009. What an event! The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and, although we have some things to work on for 2010, we were delighted by the success of the event and the comments we've received from you. We remain ever grateful for the support and endorsement of the salsa community in making GBSEx the salsa event it is. Again, thank you for choosing GBSEx in 2009 and for arriving up for a party! We hope to see you again in 2010.

Just to let you know what a fantastic time I have had at GBSEx Salsa Congress last weekend.  The venue was spacious and central and all the classes I attended were of an excellent standard.  The shows were great as was the dancing afterwards.

Classiest salsa venue I’ve ever danced in; Manchester Town Hall was a stroke of genius! Warm atmosphere – this felt like it was all about great music and great dancing; reminded me why I learned to dance – what a fantastic party mood!

For me to tell you everything I want to tell you about this weekend would take up far too many pages. I just had the most incredible SALSA experience of my life. It was intense, overwhelming, fun, hilarious, knackering and pure joy. I could quite easily go back and do it all again and I seriously want to. Please let me know as soon as possible when the next GBSEx will be.

I have seen a few events and congresses in my time and this ranked with the best ... but more, it had a really personal and even intimate feel to it. From the pre-congress party at the Chicago Rock Cafe through all the workshops, parties and shows and right up to the final group photograph that [] took on the last night ... [We] felt INCLUDED and WELCOME which was a really good trick considering the numbers.

I thought I'd pass on the unanimous 'thumbs-up' from [our] crowd…. Everyone, without exception, enjoyed the event and thought it was run and managed really well. Putting aside any teething problems of using a new venue everyone thought that the class ticketing system was a winner. They also thought that the standard of teaching and performers were exceptional. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other congresses follow your lead.

I thought that you all did a fantastic job representing yourselves and the UK Salsa scene over the weekend - and you put together one hell of a weekend!  So far the comments I have been getting from [our] attendees have been along the lines of "I got enough information to last me the year..." and "Is there another one next year... is there?"

What a fantastic event, in an equally fantastic setting.  Everyone involved not only delivered the event in a professional and efficient manner, but with such enthusiasm that really shone.  I would also like to thank all the Dance teachers, the workshops were enjoyable and challenging, I learnt a lot from the sessions I attended.  And the Dance Shows were spectacular!  As you have probably realised, I am a huge salsa fan, and will certainly be attending next year.
