Meet The Team

Kate Moore

Kate Moore is one of the Directors of Salsology, a North West salsa events company, and Salsatribe, a dancewear and dance shoes company.  Salsology organises one of the biggest salsa Club nights in the UK and was co-founder of Brit Salsafest, a major salsa congress attended by 2500 dancers from all over the world in 2006 and 2007.  Salsology’s latest venture is ‘The Great British Salsa Experience 08’, another major event planned for November 2008.

Kate is an Economics graduate and holds a post-graduate Management Diploma and Institute of Personnel Management qualifications.  She worked for 10 years in the electricity industry in a variety of Personnel and Training related jobs, before setting up her own training and research business in 1998.  Kate now works full-time in the salsa industry.

Emma Moore

Emma is one of the Directors of Salsology® (among the largest and longest running UK club nights) and the former Brit Salsafest® at The Winter Gardens in Blackpool. The Brit Salsafest® was attended by over 2000 dancers in 2006 and surpassed only by the 2007 event which attracted over 2500 delegates from all over the world. In addition, Emma and her sister Kate own and manage Salsatribe®, an online retailer of salsa related products including Oobashoo® dance shoes.

Emma holds a dance degree from London's Studio Centre performing arts college and a post graduate in Marketing as well as numerous graphics and web certifications.

Having worked as a professional dancer Emma moved into the Health & Fitness industry where ultimately she became a Group Manager for Esporta Health Clubs responsible for over 60 clubs across the UK. Emma left Esporta in 2001 to develop her own business interests including a Marketing & Design agency Marching Ants.

Salsa, which had once been a hobby soon became a full time concern, and one to which her background in marketing, design and dance could be applied. Together with her co-directors, Emma contributes to the event promotion businesses in a predominantly Marketing role.

Alison Darling

Alison has extensive experience as both an Events and an Office Manager, organising large corporate conferences, seminars, and offices in both the private and public sector.

However, Alison has managed to fit this in around her chosen vocation - acting - in which she has worked in Theatre, Television and Radio.

Nicky Lloyd Greame

Nicky has been a well-known and respected part of the UK salsa scene for over 8 years now – both as a teacher and promoter.  Her background in events/project management has enabled her to contribute to many of the UK’s big salsa events, not just as a teacher but also as part of the management team.

Most recently she was asked to help manage parts of the Brit SalsaFest and the UK Congress and has worked closely with other promoters such as Mambocity, Louis St Clair, Latin8 in addition to organising The UK Salsa Club Championship at Equinox, London (with live music from Sonora Carruseles).  She’s played an active role in bringing over a number of guest teachers from the US such as Seaon Bristol, Nelson Florez and Francisco Vasquez.

Her corporate background includes  PA to the CEO of The Body Shop International, events management at Bafta and project management at Lloyds of London in addition to organising trade fairs and shows for Carlsberg-Tetley – as such Nicky brings some very useful skills and experience to the team.
